JCC&A created an interpretive plan of the Abbott Farm National Historic Landmark, one of New Jersey’s most significant natural and cultural areas. The Landmark includes the 406-acre John A. Roebling Park, archaeological sites, and other historic, and natural resources that collectively make up the site commonly referred to as the Hamilton—Trenton—Bordentown Marsh. JCC&A worked with Mercer County and Hunter Research to create an interpretive plan for the Landmark, bringing together many of the existing educational programs together along with new cultural and recreational opportunities. A key goal was to engage new audiences with the significant stories and resources of this rare place and expand programs into heritage tourism initiatives that promote the long-term stewardship of the Marsh.

“It is a long look backward from the electric railway to the Indian’s trail, yet the life of this old oak more than encompasses it all.” –C.C. Abbott, Rambles of an Idler
