JCC&A and the World Monuments Fund commission the internationally recognized Khmer photographer Mak Remissa to document daily life in communities around the Preah Khan Temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia. In the artist’s own words, Remissa strives “to show to the public the beauty of nature and today's everyday life.” His photo-essay explores the community’s relationship with the Preah Khan temple and site.
JCC&A is curating the new Preah Khan Visitor Center in Angkor, set to open soon (details to be posted). The Center will feature an exhibition and photo gallery that brings Angkor’s story up to the present day.
Remissa is one of Cambodia’s leading photographers and has exhibited at the National Gallery, Canada, Providence College, USA, and in numerous locations throughout Cambodia including the French Cultural Center in Phnom Penh. To view more of Mak Remissa’s photographs, visit his online gallery.
